An Archive of Mamu

An archive of images of my Mamu; the most difficult person I’ve ever met yet unconditionally supportive, almost-painfully demanding while selflessly loving. Ongoing since 2014, originally shown at I’M HOME (London, October 2018).

Ronan McKenzie

Notable within Ronan’s practice is a sensitivity to honest, relatable emotion and the celebration of individuality. Alongside working commercially, Ronan has previously exhibited at Red Hook Labs, New York, 1_1 Basel, and recently funded and curated an exhibition titled I’M HOME, which featured four black British female photographers and aimed to create a truly accessible art space. Ronan’s practice spans across photography, directing, curation and programming, often tied together with her passion for creating more imagery that depicts the world as she would like to see it.
